This is my current world icon:
By default, the world icon is a screenshot of where the camera was when you saved and left your world. By downloading the world file, you can change the world icon into any image that you want. Here are the directions to change the world icon for a Minecraft Bedrock world (a computer is recommended):
1. Go into your world settings and export the world by pressing the "Export World" button.
2. Go into your files and rename the file so it ends in .zip instead of .mcworld:
2. Go into your files and rename the file so it ends in .zip instead of .mcworld:
You might get a message saying that doing this may cause the file to be unstable. Go ahead and press continue:
3. Right click the file and extract it. Once the file is extracted, open the extracted file until you see world_icon:
4. It's now time to add in your own world icon image. Delete the original world icon image. In your files, go find your custom image that you want to make the new world icon photo. Make sure that it's in a .jpeg format. If the image is not in a .jpeg format, go to this website to convert your file into a .jpeg file. The image below is my custom image in a .jpeg format:
Go ahead and right click your image and press copy (or press ctrl and c if you're on the computer). Then, go back to your world file and paste the image in (or press ctrl and v if you're on the computer). Your world file should now look something like this:
5. Now simply right click the image file and rename it to world_icon.jpeg like this:
6. Now we need to zip the folder. If you have a program such as 7zip, then you can simply archive the file. Otherwise, upload the whole entire file folder onto a website such as ezyZip. Once the file is zipped, right click it and change the ending to .mcworld instead of .zip like this:
Now double click the file to import it into Minecraft Bedrock Edition. When you view the world, you'll notice that it will have your custom world icon!
